Sunday afternoon and looking for a place to have a coffee. The Coffee Company was full, which happens often on a Sunday, so we decided to give Nubb’s Chocolatebar a try. Nubb’s is located right next to the Fitness First Health Club in the Amstelstraat right off the Rembrandtplein, which is a good thing because you can burn off the calories of all that chocolate straight away 
When we entered Nubb’s, we were greeted with the question if we had a reservation. Of course we hadn’t, because who makes a reservation for having a coffee, but fortunately for us there were some tables free. We took our seats and after a few moments a bit nervous looking waiter brought us our menu’s. Nubb’s offers various kinds of chocolate goodness, like chocolate shakes, cakes, brownies and chocolate fondue. They also have different kinds of coffee, waffles and muffins, in case you don’t feel like chocolate.
A little later the waiter came back to take our order. I ordered a latte macchiato and a chocolate muffin. My friends also ordered some coffee and a waffle with strawberries. Our coffees and my muffin arrived quite quickly, although the waiter was so nervous or inexperienced that he had to put the tray down to serve our coffees and managed to spill some of it. And there was no waffle. The waiter told us the waffle would come a little later. A little later turned out to be half an hour 
When we had finished and wanted to pay, it was impossible to get the attention of any waiter for the bill. Being honest people and not wanting to leave without paying, we went to the bar for paying. Where we were still being ignored. Finally we got someone we could give our money to, so we could leave.
Nubb’s Chocolate Bar gave us a mixed experience. The coffee and pastries are nice, although a bit pricey, but the service could use some improvement, especially for these prices.
update: First the Chocolate Bar was closed for holidays and no it has been closed permanently. No news yet what will open here now.
