Looking for a place to have a coffee in de Pijp. Of course we checked Bagels & Beans and the Coffee Company, but both of them were packed. On the way there though, I had noticed a new coffee bar on the Ferdinand Bolstraat called Lungoccino which was completely empty and the girl inside looked completely bored. So we decided to have a coffee there.
When we got there the place was still empty. We took the seat in the window and went to the bar to order. They have all the current different kinds of coffee plus the lungoccino, which is a kind of stronger cappuccino. My friend decided to order that, because it was on offer for 1 euro. I took a latte. There was not much on offer in terms of eating though. They had some croissants and two kinds of mini muffins. Good when you are on a diet
Since I wanted something sweet, I also took a mini muffin.
A little later the girl brought us our coffees and my muffin. The coffee was of excellent quality and the muffin tasted good, but was way too small!
Lungoccino is a great addition to de Pijp, with the overcrowded Coffee Companies and Bagels & Beans. Finally a new place with excellent coffee and some space.

Tastes are different, but after 38 years here I got the first good “espresso ristretto” in A´dam City.
The “macchiato” is still too liquid and too much, but the barista has an open ear for suggestions.
The beans (Guatemala) are roasted by the old fashioned Amsterdam brand Wijs & Zonen.
