After being kindly pushed out of Koffiehuis De Hoek, we had to have a coffee some place else. So we went to the nearest Coffee Company, which was one street down the canal in the Berenstraat. The Berenstraat is one the nine streets which form a kind of shopping area in De Jordaan. All buildings here are quite small, so this Coffee Company is not that big either. They have one big reading table in the back and 4 seats in the window and on a good day like today they also have two tables outside.
I ordered a latte with the guy behind the counter and the since I was the only customer at that moment, it was made straightaway.
The girl who made it, also made a nice leaf in the foam
We took a seat at the reading table, because the window seats and the tables outside were full. Luckily a little later the seats in the window became free and we moved to there. From there we could see all the people pass by outside. There is a strange mix of people coming through De Jordaan, from tourist to old locals, from young wannabe trendy people to old grandmas. Very funny to see.
Anyway the coffee at the Coffee Company is drinkable, but no way near the coffee of Starbucks. Still waiting for them
Coffee Company - Berenstraat, only go here on a quiet day or take away, because it’s small so on busy it is impossible to grab a seat.
