Coffee Company - SpuiTo my surprise I noticed a while ago that the JuicyDetails on the Spui had closed and that it was going to be replaced by a Coffee Company. Now I didn’t go to the JuicyDetails quite often, but I am sad to see it go. And yet another Coffee Company? The Coffee Company is really opening a lot of new locations recently, but I am still hoping Starbucks will come to the center of Amsterdam sometime soon. I was at Schiphol the other day at the Starbucks enjoying what we still lack.

Anyway the other day I noticed that the Coffee Company on the Spui had opened. The location is quite small, I think there is place for six people inside. But it was a nice day so we could use the small terrace outside. In the winter though, I guess they mainly aim at take away customers.

We took a table on the terrace and had a look at the menu. We felt like a latte with apple pie, so I went inside to order (no table service at The Coffee Company). When I got in I didn’t see any apple pie, so hoping it might be hidden somewhere I asked the girl behind the counter. She answered that everything they had was in the cooling. No apple pie even though it was on the menu :-(
Instead I took a muffin then and ordered the lattes. Since I was the only customer the girl finished the coffees quite fast. And then noticed too that they had dispensers with cocoa, vanilla and cinnamon like Starbucks. I guess they want to beat the competition to the punch ;-)

The Coffee Company on the Spui is yet another addition to the Coffee Company family of locations and until we get some Starbucks here it will have to do ;-)
