Review of restaurant Frenzi Cucina catering

Today my friend was a bit sick, so we decided to go somewhere close to his place. Of course Toasty would have been an option, but we wanted to try something new. By accident we found Frenzi Cucina at the end of the Overtoom. Now this is not really a restaurant, but more a deli/caterer where you buy something to take away. There is table though with some not so comfortable seats in the window where you can sit and have something to eat. The sandwiches and starters are the same price, but main courses are a little extra if you have them here. The menu is very interesting. Frenzi Cucina offers different kinds of sandwiches and very interesting sounding dished for the main course. Just after we sat down, a very cheerful and friendly girl came to us if you wanted to order drinks already. Then an acquaintance of my friend came in to say hi. I think the girl came back three times to ask our order, because my friend was chatting.

Anyway I finally ordered a muffin and a Frenzi clubsandwich. The muffin was delicious. It was a savoury muffin with pumpkin, sweet potato and some goats cheese melted on top. It’s something I can recommend for you to really try. After I finished the muffin the girl brought my sandwich. And although the price of the sandwich (€6) was quite steep for this area, you get your moneys worth. The sandwich was huge. And not just filled with lettuce either, but with a lot of different things (bacon, turkey, egg among others). I took me a while to gobble it all down.

Since my friend was a bit sick, he didn’t take a sandwich. But then his eye feel on the cake with forest fruit and raspberries. And although I was already full, we decided to take it and share it. And I was glad we did. The cake was fabulous. The bottom part tasted like buttercake and it made a good combination with the fruit. So I left this place completely stuffed!
