After the sandwich at Klavertje 4, we were looking for a place to have our coffee. Since the weather was okay, not too sunny, but still warm enough, we looked for a place outside. We found some free place on the terrace of Downtown. Here you can also have some food, there is quite an assortment of dishes, including some breakfast special. But we came here just for a coffee, so we didn’t test the food.

After a while a girl came to take our order. The girl hardly spoke dutch or english, so that made placing our order a little hard. I ordered a latte and a glass of water and my friend hadn’t decided yet. It took some time to get my latte and then my friend ordered also a coffee and a glass of water. Now my water hadn’t arrived, just my coffee. So when it didn’t come with my friend’s coffee, who did get a water, I asked for it again and I got it immediately. The coffees were okay although my friend’s coffee tasted like it had milk in it that was on the verge of going bad.

Now after sitting there for a while I noticed that the waitress was all alone. She had to take the orders, make them and then serve them all by herself. At the time it was rather quiet, but the place is not that small and she could just manage the crowd now. Anyway to her credit she kept on smiling, even though she was running the legs of her.

Downtown is a place with a nice terrace, but not a place to come if you expect quick service and good quality products.
