A while ago we saw this place just off Overtoom under construction, so then we decided to go to it once it was finished, because it looked like it would be very nice with stained glass windows. We had no idea what it would be, but we wanted to go
It was finally finished and it turned out to be the Koffiesalon. They already had a place in the Utrechtsestraat, which we had never gone to, and now they have a second place here. It was a nice day and the terrace was outside. The first thing I noticed is that they have the same terrace tables as Belgica! Unfortunately the terrace didn’t get any sun, so we decided to have our coffee inside. Also the inside reminded me a bot of Belgica, so I wonder if they have the same owner.
The girls behind the counter were very helpfull and friendly and patient. We had a look at the menu and we both decided to take a latte. Here you can pick the type of milk you want. We decided to go for the goats milk, but you can also choose full fat or low fat cows milk or soy milk if you feel so inclined. I have to say the coffee was wonderfull! It’s so far the best coffee I had in Amsterdam (untill Starbucks opens here
). I also took a sandwich, which tasted very good, but unfortunately for your €3,75 you only get one slice of bread :-0 The sandwich came packed in a little carton box, so I couldn’t see it before hand.
A little later we decided to try their fruitjuices. They had an exotic combination of cranberry and basel that I wanted to try. My friend took a strawberry juice. The juices tasted fresh, but my exotic mix tasted a bit strange. We decided to mix our juices to get strawberry, cranberry, basel juice
Excellent coffee served by pleasant girls, but the prices for the sandwiches are a bit high for what you get. You have been warned ![]()
