After waiting 15 minutes for my friend to arrive in Dam square while chatting to a girl who wanted for me to become a sponsor for Stop Aids Now, my friend called me on my cell. “Where are you?” -”I am in Dam square in front of De Bijenkorf, where are you?” -”I am in Dam square waiting for you for 15 minutes already!” :-o

Anyway after we found each other on the not so big Dam square, we decided to go to Magna Plaza. When we arrived there we noticed that the basement had finally been reopened! After the Virgin Megastore left there, nothing has actually worked down there. But now Sissy Boy Homeland is taking a chance. It’s a nice mix between furniture, home accessories, bikes, clothing, magazines and…a little lunch bar in the centre. So we decided to give the Sissy Boy a try.

The menu was quite interesting, which some special sandwiches and even scones. I ordered a cafe late and a scone with butter and home-made jam :-P since I wasn’t that hungry. It was very quiet, so we got our order quickly. The scone was tasting very good with the jam. The jam had lots of pieces of fruit in it. The coffee was also ok, the guy behind the counter even tried to make a little leaf motief in the milkfoam. Later my friend ordered a sandwich with turkey, sun-dried tomatoes and a creme fraiche dressing. Although the slices of bread were rather thin, good if you are on a low-carb diet ;-) , the sandwich had lots of flavour. After all of that it was time for a dessert. They have different types of cake there and we decided to be daring and take a piece of plumcake to share. The cake hadn’t been cut yet, so we were the first ones to try I guess. It was a good risk though, since the cake was delicious!

Overall the staff was quite friendly and the service was quick, but since there were hardly any other customers it should have been ;-)
